Call for submissions
The Stoa Review is a venue for short form, lightly peer reviewed discussion, opinion, reports or reviews of digital research into the global ancient world and its reception. We welcome submissions of completed pieces (usually between 500–2000 words, but flexible), or informal proposals for short articles or reviews. We are particularly interested in seeing academic reviews of websites, datasets, models, software or other digital resources. We also welcome reports of digital projects and exercises, potentially including student work, at the intersections of ancient world studies and digital humanities. Please send completed submissions in a common text format to both Mar A. Rodda at martinaastridr@gmail.com and Jun Ogawa at htjk6513khbk@gmail.com. Feel free to contact any member of the board for an informal discussion of ideas for future submissions or announcements.

Languages policy
Most posts on the Stoa Review will be in English, but we also welcome short pieces in other common languages of classics or digital humanities scholarship: we do not define a closed list of such languages, but expect to use common sense in accepting languages that are likely to be broadly useful to readers.
If you write an article (longer than a one-paragraph announcement) in a language other than English, please also include an abstract (100-word executive summary) of the article in English.
If you write an article (other than a short announcement) in English, and you are fluent in another language (e.g. your native tongue), please also include a 100-word abstract in one other language. Articles relating to antiquities from outside Europe (e.g. Roman sites in the Arab world) would benefit from brief abstracts in the modern languages of those regions. (If you consider using generative AI or other software for translation assistance, please refer to the AI use policy (below), and always have translations checked by native speakers.)
